The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES) is an international and intergovernmental institution, owned and managed by its Member States, for the generation and application of early warning information.  RIMES evolved from the efforts of 26 countries in Africa and Asia, in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. RIMES was established within a multi-hazard framework, which generates and communicates early warning information, builds capacity to prepare for and respond to trans-boundary hazards

I was working as Decision Support Tool Development Specialist @ RIMES, to develop tools and methods for translating forecast information into potential impacts.

Some of the other tasks I have carried out at RIMES are below.

Geospatial technology for Natural disaster management, Climate risk assessment, Decision Support Tool Development for Tsunami and Hydro-Met Early Warning System, GIS support for Weather and Climate Modeling research, GCM & RCM Analysis and interpretations, Statistical downscaling of GCM products, Pre Impact Scenarios for Hydro-met and Seasonal climate forecast, GIS capacity assessment and customized training programs to build capacities of RIMES national focal points.
